Afterward, take a short drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city and a blend of modernity and history. Explore:

    • The Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a stunning tribute to Morocco’s royal heritage
    • The Kasbah of the Udayas, a peaceful spot with ocean views and blue-washed streets

Overnight in a charming riad in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat – Chefchaouen (The Blue City)

After breakfast, drive north through the picturesque Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City. Nestled between the mountains, this charming town is known for its serene atmosphere and stunning blue-painted streets.

Spend the afternoon wandering through its winding alleys, exploring:

    • Outa el-Hammam Square, the heart of the medina
    • The Kasbah Museum, with historical exhibits and beautiful gardens
    • The Spanish Mosque, a short hike offering breathtaking panoramic views

Overnight in a cozy riad in Chefchaouen.

    Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Leave Chefchaouen and head toward the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO-listed site with impressive mosaics and well-preserved structures. Next, stop in Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, and visit:

    • Bab Mansour, the grand gateway to the old city
    • The Royal Stables, built to house thousands of royal horses
    • El Hedim Square, a lively gathering place with local markets

Continue to Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital, where you’ll check into a traditional riad in the heart of the medina.

Day 4: Full-Day Guided Tour of Fes

Today, explore the fascinating Fes el-Bali medina, one of the world’s oldest and most authentic medieval cities. With a local guide, visit:

    • Al Quaraouiyine University, the world’s oldest university
    • Bou Inania Madrasa, an architectural masterpiece
    • Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed using ancient techniques
    • The Royal Palace Gates, a stunning example of Moroccan craftsmanship

End the day with a traditional Moroccan dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Leave the bustling medina of Fes and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, for its European-style houses and clean streets.

Continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, cross the scenic Ziz Valley, filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Switch to camels and trek across the golden sands as the sun sets over the Sahara. Arrive at your luxury desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a Berber dinner, live music, and an unforgettable night under the stars.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast before heading back to Merzouga. Visit Rissani, an important desert trading town, and explore its lively souk.

Drive toward the stunning Todra Gorges, where towering 300-meter-high cliffs create a dramatic canyon perfect for short hikes and photography.

Continue to the Dades Valley, famous for its rugged rock formations and Kasbah-lined roads. Spend the night in a traditional guesthouse with dinner included.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” to see the famous Taourirt Kasbah.

Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic kasbahs, where movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed.
